Critics say football uniforms appear to be blood splattered
The Northwestern University Wildcats are planning to wear some very special uniforms during next week's football game against Michigan.
Not everyone is a big fan of the colorful uniforms.
According to some fans, the stars-and-stripes outfits look like they are splattered with blood and they consider that disrespectful.
The uniforms, designed by Under Armour, were meant to raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project. The plan was to auction off the jerseys after the Nov. 16 and donate all of the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Despite critics, most of the comments on the team's Facebook page seem to be supportive. Many commenters have said that the uniforms look "awesome" or "really cool." One person also said that the uniform "tells a story that needs to be told."
Reaction on Twitter seems to be more mixed.
