Gallardo's name likely to surface in trade rumors
As we approach Flag Day (June 14 for those who weren't aware), we not only close in on one of the more underrated days of the year, but we also close in on major league baseball's all-star break (July 15-18) and trade deadline (July 31).
At this rate, the Brewers figure to be sellers. Heck, getting back to .500 would figure to be a major accomplishment for a team that is looking up at all the other NL Central tenants (including the Cubs) with a record of 22-35.
One of the names that will no doubt surface in rumors is pitcher Yovani Gallardo. The "ace" (and I use that term loosely) of the Brewers staff has limped to a record of 4-5 with an ERA of 5.05. Still, Gallardo could be a value option for a team unable to break the bank for a player such as Cliff Lee.
John Heyman of CBSsports.com explains why Gallardo's name has been linked to the Orioles.
