Jolly graduates from drug treatment program

Jolly graduates from drug treatment program

CREATED May. 23, 2013

The Green Bay Packers wrapped up block one of OTA's on Wednesday in Green Bay. Not present for the session was defensive lineman Johnny Jolly. Jolly was in Houston completing a court-mandated drug treatment program.

Good news: Jolly has graduated from the program and will be able to join the team for block two of OTA's next week.

Jolly, a sixth round draft choice in 2006 out of Texas A&M, has not played since 2009 due to repeated legal trouble pertaining to his abuse of codeine. He might be a longshot to make the Packers roster, but, more importantly, it appears as if Jolly has turned a corner in his life.

Jolly's time in Green Bay will be fascinating to follow. Members of the media are supposed to put fandom aside when covering teams, but I have no problem saying I'm on my feet cheering for Johnny Jolly.
