Curious bat disrupts Marquette basketball game

Curious bat disrupts Marquette basketball game

CREATED Jan 28, 2013

I'm sure you've heard the story by now, but in case you haven't seen video of just how disruptive a scared bat was at the Marquette/Providence game on Saturday, you'll want to take a look at this (CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO).

I was at the game and posted a series of tweets documenting the a result of the bat.

The most entertaining portion of the game came when Jamil Wilson was nearly attacked by a bird. Batman theme playing on loudspeaker.

After 4 minute delay, we're back playing, but bird is still in building...and just flew right over my head. Players laughing & freaked out.

...I mean its like a scene out of Scooby Doo inside the BMO Harris BC.

...finally got a good look at it. Most definitely a bat.

Now some players are throwin towels at the bat trying to knock it from flight. Fans launching coats into the air. Where the hell am I?

Now I'm confused. Lights are out at BMOHBC and Whitney Houston's I will Always Love You is playing over loudspeaker. Trying to lure bat away.

With the lights out, and Whitney Houston playing over the speaker system, fans held their phones in the air, with the flash of their camera on, in what is the modern-day lighter-in-the-air-at-a-concert routine. It was a positively surreal experience.

The bat did not make a return appearance for the Bucks/Warriors game later that night.
