We are only a couple weeks into the NBA season, but its not too early to cast your ballot for the all-star game. The event will take place Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Michael Redd was the last member of the Bucks to be named an all-star...and that was in 2004. Four players from this year's roster are on this year's ballot. Guards Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings, along with frontcourt players Samuel Dalembert and Ersan Ilyasova.
The ballot was unveiled yesterday at a tip-off event in Houston, site of the 62nd annual midseason classic. Below is a portion of the press release issued yesterday by the Bucks:
For the first time ever, fans can vote via social media networks, including Facebook and Twitter. Twitter voting will allow fans to tweet a vote for one player each day throughout the All-Star balloting period. The tweet must include a player’s first and last name, along with hash tag #NBABALLOT. Facebook voting will allow fans to fill out one full ballot (three frontcourt and two guards from each conference) per day, through a custom application on Facebook.
To facilitate fan voting and create grassroots support for Milwaukee’s candidates on the ballot, the Bucks have created a campaign headquarters to serve as campaign headquarters for Bucks fans. The site features information on the team’s All-Star platform and each candidate on the Milwaukee ticket, and will be updated throughout the campaign. In addition, fans can be on the lookout for yard signs, buttons, T-shirts and other traditional campaign paraphernalia as balloting continues in the coming weeks.
