Milwaukee Bucks tip-off week events

The NBA season kicks off Tuesday night with a trio of games.The Milwaukee Bucks will open their season on the road at Boston on Friday, November 2. Their first home game will be November 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

As part of their annual "tip-off" week celebration, the Bucks have several community events planned throughout the city. Below is a summary of events.

 

Tuesday, October 30:

MMAC Bucks Preview Luncheon

Join the Bucks and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce for an exciting preview luncheon at the InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel on from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Guests will get the inside scoop on Bucks hoops from Head Coach Scott Skiles and General Manager John Hammond, along with the opportunity to participate in a free throw contest and silent auction. Wednesday, October 31:

Wendy's Take-Over Lunch

Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, all 53 participating southeastern Wisconsin Wendy’s Restaurants will be offering customers a $20 Ticket Voucher, good for $20 towards any Bucks game ticket purchase for selected November and December Bucks games including the home opener on Nov. 3.

 

In addition, 10 select Wendy’s locations will also be visited by one or more of the Bucks entertainment elements: Bango, the Bucks’ award-winning mascot, Energee! Dance team members and Hoop Troop team members. The Bucks entertainers be handing out prizes for Wendy’s guests at the 10 locations, including Bucks tickets and merchandise (a list of the Wendy’s locations to be visited will be distributed on Tuesday).

 

Thursday, November 1:

Bucks and Palermo’s Team Up to Serve Meal at St. Vincent de Paul

The Milwaukee Bucks staff, Palermo’s Pizza and others will join together to provide dinner to Milwaukee residents in need at St. Vincent de Paul Society Meal Ministry. Bucks and Palermo’s staff will be on hand to help serve pizza, vegetables and cookies to nearly 400 guests from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Palermo’s will donate the pizzas, while Trattoria di Carlo’s will provide vegetables, and Pick ‘n Save will provide cookies. This marks the seventh year the Bucks and Palermo’s have teamed up to provide a meal for those in need.

St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organization which seeks, in the spirit of justice and charity, to help those who are suffering or in need. Their meal program affirms the dignity and self-worth of all who participate by offering free evening meals in a family-friendly environment to people who are economically and socially in need.

Authentic Jersey Scavenger Hunt

Starting at 9 a.m., authentic Bucks jerseys and tickets to the home opener will be hidden in secret locations across Milwaukee. The Bucks will provide hints to the various locations via the team’s Twitter account (@bucks).

 

Friday, November 2:

Palermo’s Pizza Party at the BMO Harris Bradley Center

The Bucks will wrap up the work week by inviting fans to join together at a free pizza party at the BMO Harris Bradley Center east atrium, presented by Palermo’s, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Participating partners at the pizza party include Palermo’s Pizza, Pepsi Cola and Pick ‘n Save. Bango, members of the Energee! Dance team and Hoop Troop will add to the fun which includes music, interactive games, contests and prizes. Bucks Opening Night tickets will be among the prizes offered. The public is invited, and entry will be through the Northwestern Mutual Gate at Fourth and State Streets.

Opening Night Viewing Party

The Bucks will host a viewing party at Replay Sports Bar (2238 N. Farwell Ave, where Farwell and North intersect) for fans to gather together and watch the team open the 2012-13 campaign on the road in Boston. The party will get going at 6 p.m., with tipoff at 6:30 p.m. and $5 appetizers and drink specials courtesy of Coors Light available through halftime. Bango and the Energee! Dance Team will be on hand to host drawings to win Bucks prizes while fans watch FOX Sports Wisconsin’s telecast of the game.

 

Saturday, November 3:

OPENING NIGHT – Bucks vs. Cavaliers – 7:30 p.m.

After a week’s worth of activities, Bucks Tipoff Week culminates with their home opener celebration on Saturday, Nov. 3, when the Bucks host the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Tickets are still available for Opening Night of the 45th Milwaukee Bucks season. Fans can purchase tickets atthe BMO Harris Bradley Center Box Office (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday), through TicketMaster (1-800-4NBA-TIX) or on Bucks.com. Bucks ticket packages are also available online at Bucks.com or by calling 414-227-0500.
