Goodell to consider dropping Pro Bowl
Rodger Goodell, the Commissioner of the NFL, has left the door open to dropping the much maligned Pro Bowl should the quality of play not improve.
Speaking as a guest on SiriusXM NFL Radio's "Town Hall," Goodell agreed with host Michael Strahan that last January's Pro Bowl "was embarrassing."
Players lobbied to keep the exhibition game on the schedule and vowed to compete at a higher level in the future. Reading between the lines, I think the players really want an all-expenses paid trip to Hawai'i for a week. If the game were to be canceled, Pro Bowl voting would still take place...after all, there is money on the line for players who are elected.
In addition to the Pro Bowl discussion, Goodell had some interesting notes to share on some other NFL topics.
