Wisconsin sports weekend primer
Here we go! We are about to embark on perhaps the most incredible sports weekend the state of Wisconsin has ever seen. I honestly can't remember a weekend in my lifetime where the eyes of a sports nation were so fixed on the sports happenings taking place on Wisconsin soil.
The first and last events to take place this weekend are games one and two of the NLDS between the Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks. Sports Illustrated senior baseball writer Jon Heyman joined me on Wisconsin's Morning News to chat baseball this morning.
Along with the Brewers series against the Diamondbacks, we talked about Ryan Braun's quest for MVP, and Jose Reyes' stunt that ultimately earned him a batting title.
For a little national perspective on the Brewers, you can hear the podcast here.
Also - make sure to follow Heyman on Twitter for breaking news in the world of baseball: @SI_JonHeyman.
We also talked to the radio play-by-play voice of the Wisconsin Badgers, Matt LePay. LePay will have the call as the 7th ranked Wisconsin Badgers open the Big Ten season against 8th ranked Nebraska. An event so big, ESPN's College Gameday will be broadcasting their weekly program Saturday at 9:00am. The game will be broadcast in primetime on ESPN starting at 7:00pm.
You can hear my conversation with LePay here.
Finally, the Green Bay Packers will look to improve on their 3-0 start as they welcome in the Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon. For more on the game, and the status of injured tackle Bryan Bulaga and RB Ryan Grant, you can hear my conversation with Packers Head Coach, Mike McCarthy by clicking here.
