Fading Cardinals potential sellers
I don't want to say they've raised the white flag, but with a 10 game deficit and 32 games remaining, the St. Louis Cardinals have an eye on 2012.
General Manager, John Mozeliak has suggested the team will be all ears when it comes to trade possibilities before seasons end. General Managers are always looking to improve their team, and will usually default to a statement similar to the one made by Mozeliak yesterday.
"If somebody has interest in our players, definitely we would listen," Mozeliak stated when asked how the team will approach the final month of the regular season.
Mozeliak also indicated, however, that some younger prospects will have an opportunity to show their stuff when rosters expand in September. The Cardinals GM also credited the Brewers who have used the better part of a month to extend their 2.5 game lead to 10 games.
"The way they're playing is just unconscious," Mozeliak stated. "They've done everything right."
