MILWAUKEE - While making a campaign for support of his appeal against a suspension in 2012, now-suspended Brewers slugger Ryan Braun apparently said the man who handled his positive test was anti-Semitic.

According to ESPN reporter Buster Olney, Braun, who is Jewish, said that about Dino Laurenzi.  He also claimed Laurenzi was a Cubs fan.

Braun successfully appealed the 50-game suspension in 2012 due to questions about how Laurenzi handled the test.

"Ryan isn't currently commenting on anything -- rumor or reality -- related to his arbitration process or his suspension. He has acknowledged his mistakes, accepted his punishment, and is beginning to make amends and will comment at an appropriate time," someone who ESPN says is close to the network apparently said.

There have been reports that Braun was willing to offer his statement of guilt as early as Monday after a 65-game suspension handed down to him earlier this summer.
