Mike McCarthy's first comments to Larry McCarren after the Packers' 22-21 win over Atlanta:
- On the character comeback win
"That's Packer football. That's December. When you get to December, it smells like playoff football. It doesn't matter who you play. Winning in the NFL, it's tough to do. Atlanta played wide open. We had the ball bounce the opposite way a couple times, but I really like the way our team responded and stayed the course. Very proud of our football team defensively."
- On how the offense overcame its first-half mistakes
"Two turnovers that went against us, one turnover in the two-minute drill...the team stayed the course. Very proud of the unit for keeping fighting."
"Coming in at halftime, as coaches, we have a standard procedure, do our adjustments. We meet the players. I had an opportunity to observe the locker room before I spoke...we had our home crowd booing (us). We talked about character win. It's been over a month since we won a football game. Our guys, they never blinked."
- On Jarrett Bush's big plays in the end
"We were down to dime defense in the end. We lost Jones, Lattimore...what can you say about (Bush)? He battles every single day at practice. You love to see JB has success because he works so dang hard at it."
- On Matt Flynn's day
"Matt played tough. One interception, probably played better statistically with that. He was in command...did a great job getting us in and out of the no huddle."
- On the Lions losing
"They lost? Everybody knows where we're at. We have to beat Dallas."
