Packers release Vince Young

The Green Bay Packers have released a quarterback hoped to be the No. 2 starter behind Aaron Rodgers.

According to Vince Young's Twitter account:

GM Ted Thompson brought Young in on a non-guaranteed contract to try out this summer.

He battled Graham Harrell, who was cut, and B.J. Coleman for the spot.
