Could these 10 big names join Caron Butler as future Bucks investors?

By Jay Sorgi. CREATED Dec 6, 2013

The Milwaukee Bucks' current hometown star, Caron Butler, has expressed interest in being part of a group of investors who could someday buy the team from Senator Herb Kohl.

But he can't do it alone.  The Bucks have a value of more than $300 million - a bargain price for an NBA team, but something that few people have among their pocket change.

So we thought of some possible people or entities to take the $30 million or so role down the road, if you split it up 10 ways:
- Green Bay Packers all-world quarterback Aaron Rodgers, often seen sitting courtside at Milwaukee Bucks games.
- Longtime Milwaukee Buck Junior Bridgeman, an owner of dozens of Wendy's locations across America
- A repentant and back-in-good-graces Ryan Braun
- Bucks Hall-of-Famer and NBA executive Bob Lanier
- Green Bay Packers all-time leading receiver Donald Driver
- Current Brewers owner Mark Attanasio
- MillerCoors
- Northwestern Mutual
- Harley-Davidson
- Quad/Graphics

Those are 10 examples.  We're not necessarily advocating those 10 people/entities should or shouldn't be part of an ownership.

But they're an example of a way to garner enough local partners to keep the team in Milwaukee long term, with Caron Butler.

The point is, it's all local connections, all with impact on our city over the years, and all who could be asked to play a part with keeping this team here...and making them more competitive.
