Should e-cigarettes be banned in public?

By John Mercure. CREATED Aug 26, 2014

This era of e-cigarettes reminds me of what it must have been like in the 1950s.

The pro e-cigarette crowd says e-cigs are safe and that the vapor that spews out of the devices is also safe. I'm not sure. I think we will eventually find out that there are poisons and other things in e-cigs that none of us should ingest.

Are they safer than second hand smoke from traditional cigarettes? Probably. Are they completely safe? Probably not. Our lungs were made to ingest one thing; air. That's it...air.

Now the World Health Organization is calling for major regulations on the e-cigarette industry, including a ban on indoor smoking. The WHO says the vapor from e-cigs increases levels of toxins in the air including nicotine.
