Touring the attic of the Pabst Theater
It's time to wash the chandelier at the historic Pabst Theater downtown.
Assistant Building Manager Jason Millies let me climb into the attic with him to see how it's done.
First, they lower the ornate object (which weighs more than a ton) using an antique winch from the 1930's.
Once the chandelier is lowered, volunteers help clean the 35,000 crystal pieces.
The attic was pretty cool. I asked Jason if visiting musicians or artists ever go up there.
"Not that I know of," he said.
Hear what else he had to say and learn more history about the chandelier coming up at 3:30p on Wisconsin's Afternoon News.
