The Potholes Of Milwaukee
You can be forgiven if you feel that driving around the Milwaukee area is sort of like navigating the downhill slalom in Sochi.
You know, swerve hard to the left to avoid a pothole, swerve hard to the right to avoid a crater in the median, then hope your car is wide enough to go over the top of the gaping hole in the middle of the road without falling in!
As an aside, I love this Facebook page from a couple of years ago.
Some communities are better than others at maintaining their roads. Global warming notwithstanding, this winter has been especially brutal for potholes (and it's not even Spring yet).
Now City of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett wants money from State taxpayers to help maintain Milwaukee streets. If Barrett gets money, presumably other communities would want their share as well.
So, how bad are the local roads and who should be responsible for maintaining them (including repairing the potholes)? By the way, what's the City of Milwaukee doing withe all the extra revenue it generates from its wheel tax?
We'll discuss the question during the 2 p.m. hour of Tuesday's radio show. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the Comments section - and be sure to check back later to hear a replay of the segment.
