That's A Car Of A Different Color
In Wisconsin, car buyers who purchase "a lemon" have various protections under the law. Among other things, if a dealer can't fix a defective car, a customer may be entitled to a comparable vehicle as a replacement.
In 2010, a Fond du Lac couple purchased a red 2010 Ford Escape. The car either came with or developed transmission problems that couldn't be adequately repaired. Ford subsequently offered a 2012 Escape as a replacement.
The couple refused (and subsequently sued) because the replacement vehicle was blue - not red.
