One Word: Panties!
Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, is one of the most photographed women in the world.
A year ago, a controversy erupted after a French magazine published photos of a topless Middleton sunbathing. To get the photos of Middleton, who was on a balcony on a private estate, the media had to lurk in trees and use extremely powerful telephoto lenses.
Celebrity or no, this was pretty creepy.
On a recent trip to Australia, Middleton and her husband were in Australia walking toward their helicoptor (think of the Obamas leaving the White House to chopper to Camp David). Middleton was wearing a relatively short sundress with nothing but a thong underneath.
Predictably, a gust of wind blew the sundresss up around Middleton's waist and a photographer ended up snapping a photo of her exposed bottom. A German tabloid published the photos - causing outrage in Great Britain.
The whole thing could have been largely avoided had Middleton decided to either wear a longer dress or panties instead of a g-string - but some would say that this isn't the point.
During the 12 p.m. hour, we'll talk about whether photos of public figures under these circumstances are bad taste violations of privacy - or simply the price celebrities pay for - well - being famous?
