Carla's Got A Gun - And She Knows How To Use It
Remember all the feigned outrage from the usual suspects and their allies in the media when Sheriff Clarke suggested that homeowners consider obtaining firearms and learning how to use them? Remember all the chattering class claiming that the Sheriff was promoting vigilantism?
I wonder how those folks would feel about Carla?
Carla is a 59-year-old Los Angeles woman who lives with her 90-year-old mother. The neighborhood Carla lives in has been plagued by home invasions.
Around 3 a.m. last Thursday, Carla awoke to the sound of her dog barking. It turns out some home intruders had broken into her neighbor's house and were headed towards hers.
Carla put on her nightgown, grabbed her shotgun and ran to the backyard where she confronted the would-be robbers. She then fired a shot into the ground near one of the men and told the pair that she "knew how to use the gun".
Not wanting to test Carla's claim, the thugs fled as fast as they could.
Here's a link to an interview with Carla.
Was it irresponsible for Carla to have confronted the robbers? Should she simply have called 911 and waited for the police to arrive? Is she herself a criminal for discharging a firearm in this fashion? What would the Editorial Board of the Journal Sentinl have had her do?
We'll discuss Carla's behavior during the12 p.m. hour of Tuesday's radio show. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section - and be sure to check back later to hear a replay of the discussion.
