Patriotism or Really Bad Taste
On November 16th, Northwestern University will be debuting new uniforms for their football team. The uniforms, designed in part by Under Armour and the Wounded Warrior Project, feature a "distressed flag design".
Some argue that the red streaks that appear on the white stripes of the flag appear to be blood.
One-tenth of the proceeds from the sale of replica uniforms go to the Wounded Warrior Project. The hope is to raise at least $100,000 for Wounded Warriors.
So, is the uniform a tribute to patriotism or an example of extremely poor taste regardless of motivation? We'll discuss the issue during the first hour of today's radio program.
