A Really Bad Day For The Madison Left Means A Really Good Day For Wisconsin!

CREATED Jun. 15, 2011

Tuesday was a really bad day for the Madison Left - and that means it was a really good day for the rest of Wisconsin.

First, the Wisconsin Supreme Court overruled a Dane County circuit court judge (who had arguably gone rogue) and reinstated the collective bargaining law.  Frankly, the real outrage to this is that a politically motivated Dane County District Attorney was allowed to spend tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars chasing this particular windmill in the first place.

Second, the Legislature is poised to pass a budget which will erase the State budget deficit and restore some fiscal sanity to Wisconsin.

Third, the protest movement appears to have largely fizzled out.  Attendance at events has been in decline and the protesters who remain are pretty much relegated to the hardcore fringe.  I guess expecting Dane County teachers to give up a day of their summer break to protest at the Capitol is too much to ask.

I really hope yesterday is the day that we turned a corner.

I firmly believe that once the collective bargaining law and new budget go into effect, most people will see that the sky really isn't going to fall.  Once we get our financial house in order, I also expect to see job creation rise.  When that occurs, don't be surprised if people look back a year from now and wonder what all the hubbub was about?

The bottom line: a really bad day for the Madison Left means a really good day for Wisconsin.
