Truckers stranded for two days on closed Indiana highways

By Phyllis Stark. CREATED Jan 6, 2014

The bitter cold weather, coupled with snow and ice, is wreaking havoc across the country. In Northwest Indiana, truckers have been stranded for two days after more than 92 miles of highway shut down, including portions of I65. There is no definitive timeline on when all these highways and roads will re-open.

More than 140 snow plows are moving snow and ice on Northwest Indiana roads and highways, but high winds are sweeping the mess right back in place.

Dozens of motorists had to be rescued from across the area.
