Nine years ago today the first YouTube video was posted.

Under YouTube handle: jawed, YouTube co-founder Jawed Karmin uploaded an 18-second video called "Me at the zoo" at 8:27 p.m. on April 23, 2005.

Watch above as Karmin stands in front of the enclosed elephants at the San Diego Zoo and says, "Alright so here we are, uh, in front of the elephants and the cool thing about these guys is that they have really, really, really long, um, trunks. And that, that's cool. And that's pretty much all there is to say."

Yakov Lapitsky is credited with shooting the video. "Me at the zoo" has more than 14 million views.
