Pot is legal in Colorado, but not for fourth graders.
Four boys are in trouble this morning after one of them sold marijuana to his classmates and another one brought in a marijuana edible.
It started when a 10-year-old fourth grade boy brought in a small quantity of pot to the Monfort Elementary School in Greeley on Monday.
He sold the marijuana to three classmates on the school playground for $11.
The next day, one of the young buyers brought a marijuana cookie to school and gave it to the boy who sold him the marijuana.
Both of the boys apparently took the weed from their grandparents.
All four of the students involved were suspended for a significant number of days, according to John Gates, director of safety and security for the school.
Adults 21 and older are able to buy recreational pot legally in the state of Colorado.
The school sent home a letter to parents letting them know what happened and reminding them to keep their marijuana secured just like a firearm.
