It's the Friday before the Packers 2013 home opener and I am like a kid on Christmas Eve, even after being a season ticket for years and going to games with my dad and grandpa since I was 5.
I get chills just driving into my hometown for every game, and when I see the stadium, a huge smile takes over my face.
My wife just smiles at me and knows I am in heaven!
Since it is Friday during football season, that means it's "Packers Tie Friday!"
I have been doing this for more than 10 years: yes, I even wore a Packers tie when I did the morning weather in Minneapolis.
I am very superstitious and have worn the same tie for all those years, but after some ugly playoff losses, I tried to change to another tie with no luck.
I am trying that again this week. I was on vacation last week so this is my first week wearing the new Packers tie.
I need some new tie mojo after we have lost 2 straight to the 49ers.
We shall see how much luck this tie brings us on Sunday. Maybe I need to wear a Packers bow tie?
I was on vacation in Aruba last week, but no matter where you go, there is always a Packers bar, and Aruba is no exception.
Scott's Brats is a tiki hut right on the beautiful white sand, and they serve up delicious Johnsonville Brats, Chicago Dogs, Italian Beef sandwiches and of course, a Bloody Mary bar.
My wife and I had lunch with the owners every day that week. They have the best view from any bar stool in the world! The owners, Scott and Leslie, moved form Green Bay 2 years ago with an idea, and are now living the dream in paradise.
The tiki hut is decorated with Packers, Badgers, and Brewers stuff.
If you ever find yourself in Aruba, have lunch at Scott's Brats. They also have a tailgate party every Sunday during football season...bringing a Wisconsin tradition to Aruba!
My wife and I flew home last Sunday in our Packers gear, I was getting updates during the 4 hour flight to Atlanta, and then we got to watch the 4th quarter in the airport before our flight back to Milwaukee.
I was getting "Go Pack!" and hi-fives everywhere in the airport.
Packers fans are truly everywhere.
I was shocked the Packers were tied with the Niners going into the 4th quarter, but I was even more disappointed that they couldn't keep the lead and come home with a win.
The D needs to step it up, and I hope they can on Sunday before the largest crowd to ever watch a game at Lambeau.
Lambeau will be rockin, and it will be great football weather with highs in the 60s and a few showers.
The best chance for rain is during tailgating.
Packers win 24-14. Go Pack Go!
