Reason to be 'a little more optimistic' for Packers after Rams game
There's new reason for Packers nation to have hope, according to a reporter with keen insights on the team.
"I'm feeling a little more optimistic than most. That's what we saw down in St. Louis," said TODAY'S TMJ4 and Packers TV Network anchor Lance Allan on 620WTMJ's "All Things Packers."
"A lot of people were scared...but I think you saw some of what has gone right in training camp." "The concern would be punching the ball in the end zone."
The Packers had six scoring opportunities but only produced one touchdown in their 19-7 win over the St. Louis Rams.
A big reason for hope is the development of Eddie Lacy at running back, as witnessed by his five yards-per-carry performance on Saturday night.
"He's the type of guy that when the lights come on, he plays. Mike McCarthy always says that when they grade players, that's mainly what they put the bigger emphasis on. (He) looked great."
"It's going to be almost like baseball. DuJuan Harris is going to be the starter, and then you'll have Lacy as the closer."
