APPLETON - The Green Bay Packers are working to tackle childhood obesity in Appleton. About 300 kids participated in two outreach camps on Tuesday at Janet Berry Elementary School.
Both boys and girls had the chance to test their football skills through various drills and obstacle courses.
"Our main point is to make sure kids are remaining active. With the child obesity levels being so high, this is an opportunity for the Packers to use the equipment we have and bring it out here today, so the kids can run around a little bit and play the game of football," said Tim Schroeder, Packers Youth Football Coordinator.
The camps are free and are part of the NFL's "Play 60" initiative.
