Packers head coach Mike McCarthy spoke exclusively to 620WTMJ/NBC26's Larry McCarren on the Packers Radio Network after the team's 22-9 win over the Detroit Lions.
Here are his thoughts:
"Very good team victory...all division wins are important."
On the team's subpar first half:
"The first half...some long drives...we had to speed the game (up), get it going."
On running the ball more (180 yards rushing)
"Offensively, we wanted to commit to the run/pass balance. Did a very good job of that."
On Mason Crosby's five field goals:
"Mason was outstanding. Good stroke."
On a defensive effort that held Reggie Bush to 69 combined rushing-receiving yards and the Lions to 64 yards rushing:
"I take my hat off to our defense...particularly as the injuries came...(players) stepped up and played."
On the injuries decimating the linebacking corps:
"Brad Jones has a hamstring injury. Clay Matthews has a thumb, so there will be testing. Francois...achilles tendon. I feel terrible for (him)."
