The Green Bay Packers apparently have an open quarterback competition for the backup job behind Aaron Rodgers.
Coach Mike McCarthy seemed to intimate that the battle was wide open, but that neither B.J. Coleman nor Vince Young had played impressively enough to satisfy him.
"We need to improve. Outside of Aaron, we need to have more consistency in the production," said McCarthy on Monday.
Both quarterbacks will be given plenty of chances to produce against the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday night (5:00 p.m. on 620WTMJ, 6:30 p.m. on TODAY'S TMJ4).
"Vince will be given the opportunities, B.J. will be given those opportunities. They'll play the majority of the football game."
McCarthy hasn't practiced Aaron Rodgers much this week, and may not play Rodgers much Thursday night.
"He's in game ready shape," said McCarthy.
