For decades, the venerable Lambeau Field has been one of the top home field advantages in the NFL.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy hopes the increased seating in the south end zone, and the wall of sound it creates, can help cement that status.
"You want your crowd noise to be as loud as possible," said McCarthy on Thursday.
"Any time you can increase the volume, the noise...it will definitely help us."
The new, sky-scraping south end zone stands, are being called a number of positive names, including 620WTMJ's Doug Russell coming up with "Mount Murphy."
President Mark Murphy spearheaded the fundraising effort through a stock sale to help finance the expansion of Lambeau Field without tax dollars.
