On the week of the first Packers-Bears tussle of 2013, we'd like to mark the fact that 620WTMJ's "Voice of the Green Bay Packers" has reached a benchmark in his tenure.
Wayne Larrivee is about midway through his 15th season as the Packers' radio play-by-play voice, now topping the 14 years with which he served the Chicago Bears Radio Network with excellence at WGN and WMAQ Radio.
Larrivee has called two Super Bowl champions: his first year in Chicago in 1985, and the 2010 Packers season.
Monday night will be his 58th Packers-Bears game, with 57 previous regular season tussles and the 2010 NFC Championship Game under his belt.
In fact, of the 205 previous Packers-Bears battles (preseason, regular and postseason), only five of them have not involved either Larrivee or Bears founder/coach/player George Halas who passed in 1983.
