  • MILWAUKEE - Tents are pitched outside the Zeidler Building downtown with a bunch of college kids pulling a crazy stunt to be the first to vote.

  • Six tents were set up on the corner of North Broadway Street and East Kilbourn Avenue in Downtown Milwaukee early Monday morning.

  • About 24 students were waiting there, most specifically to vote for President Barack Obama.

Nathan Smith told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Michelle Richards that it was a show of support for the President.

  • "It's something we decided to do as a group," said Smith.

"We're 'Students for Barack Obama' at (his) school, and they're the College Dems over at Marquette. We decided it would be a fun thing to do and camp out."

  • Organizers had been planning the campout for a couple weeks.
