Rodgers to Packers fans: Bring the noise

By Jay Sorgi. CREATED Dec 31, 2013

The former Super Bowl and NFL MVP quarterback of the Green Bay Packers is asking for Lambeau Field to explode in volume.

"We're in need of crazy fan noise this week," said Rodgers on ESPN Radio Tuesday.

"Get there early, be as loud as you possibly can.  We're going to need your support this week."

Rodgers is echoing the efforts of a fan from Milwaukee to get Lambeau Field to break the all-time stadium noise record of 137.6 decibels.

However, there is the issue of getting a sellout.  As of Tuesday morning, about 13,000 tickets were still available to the game.

Still, Rodgers said he was "glad we're still playing" after the miraculous 33-28 win over Chicago.

Rodgers cited a specific example of an incident at home revealing to him he would be OK to play after seven weeks off due to a broken collarbone, "ever since I shoveled my driveway and slipped on some ice" before the game.

The quarterback also revealed that Jordy Nelson had a spectacular game despite battling illness.

"Jordy fighting through a real bad sickness...10 catches...he was throwing up on the bus afterwards.  It was kind of gross."
