The Packers brought tight end Colt Lyerla in to take a chance on his impressive athletic ability, and he certainly showed glimpses of that talent during training camp.
Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL during the team's Family Night practice and will miss this season.
With that being the case, the Packers decide to make a move on Tuesday regarding Lyerla:
Packers have waived TE Colt Lyerla injured. He said they told him he if he clears waivers he will be placed on full-season IR.— Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) August 19, 2014
The Journal Sentinel reported last week that Lyerla would likely miss this upcoming season. Ideally, the Packers are able to keep him on the books, though, and he will have a chance to make an impact for the team in 2015.
