In the NFL, you have to earn the respect of your veteran teammates, and respect comes more often than anything from example.
It appears obvious to 620WTMJ/NBC26's Larry McCarren, a former Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame center, that rookie quarterback Scott Tolzien has positive glances come at him from veterans who need him to play well for their team to defeat the New York GIants on Sunday.
"The more you see him, the more you like him," said McCarren on "Wisconsin's Afternoon News."
"He comes across as a young man who gets it. He knows what's important. He knows preparation. If you take care of that, you have a lot more chance of succeeding on Sunday. His diligence has caught the attention of his veteran teammates."
McCarren also says that in comparison to his college days leading the Wisconsin Badgers to the Rose Bowl, Tolzien's arm strength has improved.
"He throws a better, stronger ball now," said McCarren. "He has plenty of zip on it."
