The NFL holds its annual awards show the night before the Super Bowl and Packers running back Eddie Lacy is one of five finalists for the Pepsi NEXT Rookie of the Year Award.
"Honored to be part of the top finalists with these guys, great athletes, great people. To be one of the top rookies, it definitely means a lot," Lacy told 620WTMJ's "Sports Central" on Tuesday.
"It's been a great year for me...fun. I'm enjoying every moment."
Fans can vote for rookie of the year through Tuesday here.
Lacy produced a Pro Bowl season with 1,178 yards in his rookie year, and he said he succeeded in blasting through the rookie "wall" that so often stops a first-year player's production.
"I thought it a few times, but whenever you get to go out and play again, your thought doesn't cross your mind. The opportunities for you to play the game that you love...the rookie wall wasn't that much of a problem."
He said he's been "hanging out" with his family, and will be getting back to training soon.
"It's a grind. You've got to make sure you stay in the best shape that you can."
