An All-Pro Green Bay Packers linebacker says he will play Sunday against the Detroit Lions after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Per the Green Bay Press-Gazette's Pete Dougherty:

Further reported by Ty Dunne of the Journal Sentinel:

His coach said Matthews "looks good" and possibly has an improved chance of starting Sunday, but would not go so far as to say he's a guaranteed go for the game.

Matthews took in more of practice Thursday than he did Wednesday, according to the Journal Sentinel's Tom Silverstein:

Matthews suffered a hamstring injury in the Packers' 34-30 loss at Cincinnati two weeks ago.

Coach Mike McCarthy gave credence to the believe that he could be available for Sunday's showdown against Detroit after his increased practice time Thursday.

In other injury news which Silverstein referred to, cornerback Casey Hayward has not played a down this season due to his hamstring issue. He has been ruled out for Sunday's game with the Lions.
