GREEN BAY - The Packers have signed one of their top young defensive backs to an extension, according to a report.
NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted this Monday:
#Packers S Morgan Burnett signed a 4-year extension worth $24.75M with $8.25M guarantees, I'm told. Back to this golf course in Mississippi.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) July 15, 2013
Burnett has started all 16 games for the Packers in each of the last two seasons.
He was a 2010 third-round draft pick, and is only 24 years old.
However, what that means may not just be a tribute to his talent, but a way of revealing shortcomings in the Packers defense which the team is trying to resolve.
