Ah, the pat on the butt.
It's one of the longtime traditions among athletes and their coaches in sports, an affirmation of a good play, a good job. Otherwise, the rear end is regarded as a rather sensitive area.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers gave coach Mike McCarthy a rather powerful pat on said derriere with most of America able to watch it happen during Green Bay's 38-20 triumph over Washington Sunday.
Why am I laughing so hard at the fact that Aaron Rodgers smacked Mike McCarthy's butt? Hehe — Sarah Knepper (@sknepps) September 15, 2013
McCarthy gave his thoughts on the gesture during "The Mike McCarthy Show" on TODAY'S TMJ4 and NBC26.
"It hurt like hell," admitted the coach.
"You'd prefer things like that not be brought up at a particular time," he explained to his interviewer from the crowd who came to watch the show.
McCarthy quipped with much laughter, "I'm comfortable in who I am."
