Today's Outlook

Thursday Thunder

A big push of warm, moist, unstable air has spread into Southern Wisconsin leading to a likelihood of showers and thunderstorms with the potential for very heavy localized downpours.  The associated warm front will lift to our North setting up the potential for some of the hottest temperatures so far this Summer.  Temperatures today will reach the low 80s and tomorrow some spots could touch 90 degrees.  The hot temperatures are bubbling into our region as an upper level ridge grows through the center of the nation.  This pattern will remain in place for days to come.  Depending on the precise location of that ridge, the surface boundary, and periodic atmospheric waves we could see repeated rounds of showers and storms, though none of the days beginning tomorrow look to be complete wash-outs.  When it's not raining, it will still feel moist and muggy as the dew points will climb to uncomfortable levels for just about everyone.
