Hundreds of first and second grade students from 10 Milwaukee-area schools put their hard work and effort into designing a quilt.
The children belong to an art education project organized by SHARP Literacy, Inc.
The four-piece quilt focuses on the seasonal nature of "Life Cycle of Growing Things and Pollination," and is based on Wisconsin's first grade science curriculum and SHARP Literacy's recently published "We Love to Learn Book," A Busy Bee: The Story of Bella the Honey Bee.
The quilt will go on display at the Milwaukee Art Museum on Thursday, May 23, 2013.
Lynda Kohler, executive director of SHARP Literacy, Inc., appeared on Wisconsin Tonight to talk about the project.
