‘Human Barbie’ now claims she subsists on light and air

Ukranian model Valeria Lukyanova, best known for having transformed herself into the human Barbie, has revealed that she no longer consumes food or water. Lukyanova, 23, who previously sustained herself on an all-liquid diet to maintain her tiny waist, now claims she has converted to “Breatharianism,” training herself to live off only light and air, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.

“In recent weeks I have not been hungry at all. I'm hoping it's the final stage before I can subsist on air and light alone,” she reportedly said.

“A Breatharian is said to be someone who never eats or drinks as they can exist on 'cosmic micro-food,’” according to the International Business Times. The Daily Mail calls it a “cult,” and a dangerous one.

“The practice is criticized as potentially lethal pseudoscience, and several practitioners have reportedly died of starvation,” reports the Daily Mail. “With her pinched waist, skeletal arms, enormous colored contact lenses, thick make-up and vacant expression, Valeria believes she has become a living, breathing Barbie - something she sees as the ultimate embodiment of perfection.

“She has courted international controversy by turning herself into a human doll, confessing she wishes to be considered 'the most perfect woman on the internet.’ Based on the photos on her social media accounts, Valeria is sporting an increasingly thin frame,” the paper reports.

In the past, the model has claimed to be a spiritual teacher who can “speak with aliens through light,” and says she has the ability to time travel. She also told a documentary filmmaker last summer that she believes she’s from another planet, possibly Venus, and she was adamant that she’s not human.

She also revealed that she has seen a psychiatrist about the voices in her head.

Lukyanova is reportedly married to a construction worker who also acts as her manager.
