Attack of the car-eating potholes

By Phyllis Stark. CREATED Mar 3, 2014

Potholes aren't just ruining cars this season, they're also taking down city and state budgets already strained from a brutal winter. As Bloomberg reports, Indianapolis is over budget by almost $5 million for winter road maintenance this year. Massachusetts has spent $420,000 already to fill potholes. Chicago has filled more than 150,000 potholes so far. And Cleveland has used up 850 tons of asphalt already this winter.

The pothole epidemic is so bad that it's beginning to feel like a scary movie, as you’ll see in the entertaining clip above.

It ends with a reminder that the first day of spring—March 20—can’t come soon enough.
