Tenant hopes landlord keeps word, makes repairs

MILWAUKEE - Regina Rozier has lived in an apartment on N. 40th Street for nearly three years waiting for her landlord to make good on his word and repair a number of long standing problems.

Problems like a broken window held together with tape, a busted heating register big enough for her 3-year-old son to climb into, and windows that leak cold air like sieves.

"When I came in, I noticed there were some issues and he promised he would do maintenance," Rozier said.

Earlier this month, Rozier had enough and reported her landlord to the city.

An inspector came out and wrote up 22 code violations.

When reached by phone Tuesday evening, landlord Frederick Jackson but made us a promise, too.

"The inspector granted me 30 days to have them repaired," he said "They'll be fixed well within the 30 days."
