SHEBOYGAN FALLS - Jordan and brother Juwaun Jackson were suspended for Friday's big match-up against rival Plymouth. The brothers, and Jordan’s twin, Jamal, posed for a picture in the Sheboygan Falls News.
Upset parents called the district arguing the brothers were flashing gang signs.
The brothers argue they were goofing around and pointing at the camera and showing the three point sign.
They family appealed the suspension today.
“They basically allowed us to give our side of our opinion and what we felt why the boys should have never been suspended,” said mother Maria Jackson.
The appeal worked, and the district reversed its decision. Both boys will play tonight.
“We’re very excited, I’m a little nervous for the kids. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for them,” Maria Jackson said.
Jordan tells me he’s received emails, Facebook messages and Twitter replies from people across the country.
“It’s pretty surprising how big it’s gotten. It started out with me posting a message to the Sheboygan Falls News Facebook page. You guys show up at my house, and it goes viral. It’s awesome though,” Jordan Jackson said.
He adds he’s learned a big lesson.
“It’s taught me to really think before I do something because people may misinterpret something, even though you don’t mean to,” Jordan said.
