RACINE - A Racine mom contacted TODAY'S TMJ4 after she found a black widow spider in her grapes!
Dawn Yager was in her kitchen unloading her groceries a couple weeks ago when she thought grapes might go well with the family feast.
"I washed the grapes twice and I put them on the table for dinner," explains Yager. "And low and behold, a web came down and the black widow spider was hanging on the web."
The creepy crawler was alive and on the move.
"I put the whole shooting match on the table and that's where it came out of."
Her family captured the black widow in a plastic container and took it back to ALDI, where they said they'd take care of it. Shortly after Dawn's experience, ALDI announced they were pulling the grapes off their shelves in the area, when a Wauwatosa woman reported a spider sighting of her own.
"Holy cow. Thank God we didn't get bit."
We went to the ALDI where Dawn got her groceries and the grapes were gone. Dawn says, that's enough for her, but says it's still going to be a while before she buys grapes again. ALDI has said they regret any inconvenience or concern this may have caused.
