School zone speeders put pedestrians at risk

WAUWATOSA - Speeding through a school zone got the attention of Speedbusters this week.
It was a picture perfect day for Speedbusters to visit a pretty piece of Wauwatosa. We checked out a couple of traffic problems near 91st and North Avenue.
We brought the radar gun to this neighborhood after getting an email from Laura, who says drivers around here have an “overt disregard for pedestrians.”
Finding speeders was easy, and they seemed oblivious to the school zone speed limit.
Cars can do 30 miles per hour here most times, but when school is in session, the limit drops to 20.
With so many people trying to cross the street, you can see why Wauwatosa made it a school zone, though pedestrians know better than to trust drivers to listen.
"Absolutely no, no. No one is doing 20 right now. This guy might be, because he's making a turn," said Patty Obligato.
