GREENFIELD- Speedbusters is checking out a tip from a viewer in Greenfield.
Take a wide stretch of road -- with a long run between stop signs -- and what do you get? A street where drivers feel free to ignore the speed limit.
And the stretch of Cold Spring Road -- between S. 43rd and 51st Streets in Greenfield -- is just such a place.
In between clocking cars driving over the 25 mile per hour limit -- Speedbusters met a group watching speeders. Camden and Kate were picking dandelions with Nana, Linda Foeckler, along Cold Spring Road and she was watching them like a hawk. "I'm standing guard by the road like this because I know they go fast," said Linda Foeckler.
Linda Foeckler isn't just afraid to let the grandkids wander close to the street. Simply pulling out into traffic can be a challenge with cars speeding past. "We have to stop here coming out of our condos, some days we really have to wait because they can be way back there and I won't even chance it because I know they're coming way faster for me to make that turn," said Linda Foeckler.
Yet another reason why people who live along this speedy stretch of street -- want drivers to slow it down.
