Political professor on Walker: 'I think he'll run' for President in '16

MADISON - A political science professor says that the appearances Governor Scott Walker has planned for Iowa this week are showing how he's "testing the waters" for a possible presidential run in 2016.

"He can't be explicit yet, but I think he'll run," said University of Virginia Center for Politics Director Larry Sabato to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Walker is giving the keynote speech at a GOP fundraising event near Des Moines on Thursday.  The Iowa Caucus is among the most important early presidential races ramping up to 2016.

"We used to call this period 'testing the waters.'  I think that's what he's doing," said Sabato.

"I'm going to Iowa, but I get invited to other states that have nothing to do with presidential politics," explained Gov. Walker, according to the State Journal.
