Man charged with kidnapping, sexually assaulting missing teen
MILWAUKEE - Remember that missing Milwaukee teenager who disappeared around Thanksgiving? The Milwaukee County District Attorney has now charged a man with kidnapping and sexually assaulting the teen.
The victim is only 13 years-old and she escaped after being sexually assaulted and held against her will for nearly a week. TODAY’S TMJ4 is no longer naming the young girl because she’s a victim.
Lamar Cone is behind bars. He is charged with kidnapping, child abuse, sexual assault of a child and false imprisonment. Cone is a registered sex offender. He was on probation for a 2009 sex crime conviction. But prosecutors said that did not stop him from picking up the girl as she left school back on November 25, 2013.
TODAY’S TMJ4 stopped by the house on North 6th street Monday afternoon. This is where police arrested cone and a woman. According to the criminal complaint Cone took the girl to an apartment in the heart of downtown at Juneau and Water Streets.
The girl told investigators Cone tried to force her to “work the streets” for sex. When the girl refused Cone is accused of beating her and forcing her to perform sex acts on him.
Milwaukee Police believe Cone is part of child trafficking operation in the city. The investigation is still open and they believe there may be more victims.
Charges are pending against the woman arrested. It is believed she recruited the young ladies for Cone. The 13 year-old victim was able to eventually escape and get to her father’s house. She’s now with family.
